FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
As you would be aware, this is my first week back at Musgrave Hill after taking an extended break. I would like to thank Tamara Hall for stepping in for me in my absence. It was so great to be back at school, see our students’ smiling faces again and experience the wonderful and rich work that is happening in our classrooms. An exciting term 3 ahead.
School Opinion Survey reminder
Thank you to all of those who have already completed the Parent/Caregiver Survey. If you have not had a chance to complete the survey yet, please note that the online surveys will remain open until Friday, 30 July 2021.
The invitation was sent from the Department of Education, not the school, and it will have the subject line School Opinion Survey for parents and caregivers, 2021. Please check your junk email folders if you can’t find it. The survey can be completed as soon as the invitation is received and will take approximately 5 minutes using a computer, tablet or smart phone.
Your feedback is very important to us and the School Opinion Survey is a valuable way for us to hear your opinion and use this information to help us set our school’s future direction.
Park and Walk
Imagine, if we could remove at least 15 to 25 cars from our Pick-Up Zone. This would definitely have a positive impact on the congestion in the afternoon. We are highly encouraging more of our families to adopt our park and walk strategy. There are four parking areas located within 500m of the school.
Please give park and walk a go. You may be pleasantly surprised how much quicker this will be compared to queuing up in the pickup zone.
If you choose to utilise the Pick-Up Zone, can I please stress the importance of respecting the process in place. Please do not attempt to cut in, stop in the middle of road and call for your child, park in driveways or double park. This puts everyone’s safety at risk particularly our children.
Leading by Example – Our Uniform and our Image
We are always speaking to our students about leading by example; making sure that they are modelling our expected behaviours both in and out of school. Whenever our students are in uniform, their conduct and our school image are on display as wearing our uniform makes them very identifiable. Our students should be proudly wearing our uniform each day and it was wonderful to see this as I walk around the school and visit classrooms.
I remind all families that our uniform includes black shoes only. Whilst we expect all of our students to wear the correct school uniform each day, it is even more important for our senior students to do so as we expect them to lead by example.
Please contact your Sector Deputy Principal if there is a reason your child cannot be in the appropriate school uniform each day. We do understand that there are extenuating circumstances for some families and students and we will then work with you to ensure your child does not remain out of uniform. Thank you for your support with this.
