FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
As we say goodbye to Term 3 we begin, in earnest, our preparations for the following year. As a school, we have begun to look forward to planning classes and structures for 2021. To this end, if you are yet to enrol in Prep for 2021, please do so. Also, if you are in any year level apart from Year 6, please let the office know if you will be leaving our school next year. The more accurate we can make our classes next year the less likely we will have to make any changes around Day 8. Thank you for your support.
Fun Sports Day
The year of COVID and the restrictions that continue to evolve meant our traditional Musgrave Hill Sports Days took on a whole new look. On Tuesday 8 September, our students from Prep to year 6 participated in our new MHSS Fun Sports Day. The weather was just perfect making for a wonderful day. The fun, laughs and smiles on students’ faces as they participated was a phenomenal sight - all involved had a terrific day.
This year has been very difficult for all students as we were not sure what we would be able to do and how we would adapt with the COVID restrictions. I am very happy and proud of the fact that we have been able to deliver significant school events such as our Fun Sports Day, Under 8’s Day and our Book Week Assemblies. It has been wonderful to provide all of our students with every regular opportunity possible, while still ensuring everyone’s safety by following the stated health guidelines.
To this end, I would like to thank Anthony Clarke, the Teachers, Teacher Aides and Grounds Staff who all played such an important role in running this day. It was a new look day which had to be redesigned from scratch but was successful because everyone involved was willing to do things differently. Well done to all and thank you for your efforts.
Finally, I would like to save my biggest thank you to you, our parents. I fully understand how difficult it is to not be able to attend such days and I also understand how disappointing it is to miss out on seeing your children take part in these events particularly our Preps who are doing this for the very first time. However, I do believe that giving students an opportunity to participate without spectators is better for them than not participating at all – which many schools have chosen to do because it is easier. I am forever humbled by the support of our school community throughout this COVID crisis.

TUCKSHOP NEWS
If your child received a ‘Musgrave Way Award’ or a ‘Peacebuilders Award’ please send in the award with a note attached stating what you would like to order from the tuckshop. If you are not sure what is on our menu please visit the Qkr! website or use the App.
Keep an eye out next term for some of your favourite meal deals. These will be available for the second break only at 1.15pm so there is enough time to prepare them fresh.
Everything in our tuckshop is made using the Traffic Light System – Green foods are everyday foods, Amber foods are sometimes foods and Red foods are a once a term specials. Every item on the menu this last term met the Green Light requirements. [We will be introducing our Amber meal deals for next term which will only be available once a week, however there will be a different meal option each day]. Due to Covid 19 restrictions on deliveries and places where we can obtain food from, has been a very challenging time and I appreciate all the support and the patience you have shown.
All orders must be placed via our Qkr! App or their website. All orders have a cut off time of 9:15am daily as this allows us time to make everything. We have a ‘Late Lunch Order’ available that consists of a muffin and piece of fruit for first break and a vegemite or jam sandwich for second break. This special menu has a cut off time of 10:30am.
Please note we only make to order which helps us keep our costs down.
Lost Property
We have a lost property area located outside the tuckshop which has a number of lunch boxes, drink bottles and containers in it. Could you ask your children to come up and check to see if their belongings are there. I will keep it locked away over the break and will have it out ready in Term 4 for the children to collect their items.
Next term we will continue to have our Sushi Days through Sushi-Pro so keep an eye out for dates.
I’d like to wish you all a happy and fun holiday and look forward to seeing all the students back in Term 4.
