COVID-19 latest
How fortunate we are, for now, the situation in Queensland remains relatively safe and students and staff can continue to attend school. However, with the current situation continuing to escalate in southern states, there is rightful apprehension about what the future may hold for us here in Queensland.
What I really appreciate about our wonderful community here at Musgrave Hill is our calm, sensible and measured approach to managing the pandemic. Thank you to all who have positively contributed to our successful navigation of COVID-19 to date by adhering to our rules of restricting access to parents and visitors and demonstrating safe social distancing within our school and keeping students home who may be unwell.
Continuity of learning is our highest priority and we truly value every day we can be with our students. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Prep enrolments
While many things are different in 2020, other things remain constant such as our planning forward to the next year of school. To help us with our Prep numbers for 2021, we ask that you encourage families you may know with 2021 Prep age students to register and return their completed paper work, including birth certificate, to the office ASAP to secure their place.
Even if you are an existing family you must still complete the enrolment process for your Prep child for next year. Enrolling early not only allows us to plan our staffing and classes as accurately as possible, it also provides the opportunity for your 2021 Prep child to participate in our transition program which is so valuable in assisting with the transition into school.

Uniform reminder
Musgrave Hill State School is a uniform school. The P&C supports a student dress code because it believes that it promotes the objectives of the Education General Provisions Act, 2006. In particular the P&C of our school supports the intention of a student dress code in providing a safe and supportive teaching and learning environment by:
- ready identification of students and non-students at school
- eliminating distraction of competition in dress and fashion at school
- fostering a sense of belonging
- developing a mutual respect among students through minimising visible evidence of economic or social differences
A special reminder of the following -
- School jumpers only (Navy Blue in colour)
- All black shoes (no high tops or additional colours to be visible).

PJ Day
On the day before the Gold Coast Show holiday (Thursday 13th August) we are holding a ‘PJ Day’ here at school to celebrate the Week 5, halfway-bump of Term 3. Everyone can wear their favourite comfy pyjamas, throw on a dressing gown and even bring slippers or bed socks to wear indoors. Students must still wear sneakers or protective shoes and a hat while outside the class room.
Please provide a gold coin donation on the day, to help fund the wonderful work of our Musgrave Hill P & C Association.
A MESSAGE FROM THE OFFICE
If a Parent/Guardian has a message to be relayed to their child please let the office know as early as possible. Lately a lot of parents have been phoning just before the school break up bell and it can prove very difficult to locate a child if they are not in their classroom.
