FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
I want to take a moment to acknowledge the difficult and challenging time our community has experienced with Tropical Cyclone Alfred. We know that many families and staff have been directly affected whether through damage to homes, flooding, prolonged power outages, or other disruptions and our thoughts are very much with those still navigating the aftermath.
In saying that, it was truly heartening to welcome everyone back on Monday. The resilience, warmth, and unwavering spirit shown by our students, families, and staff has been nothing short of remarkable. By Wednesday, all our students had returned to their classrooms - a testament to all the hard work behind the scenes, especially given the damage sustained in some learning areas.
While a couple of spaces are still undergoing repairs, this has had minimal impact on day-to-day learning and we’re working swiftly to ensure everything is fully restored as soon as possible.
Dojo Updates
Given the whirlwind of the past week and a half, some of our scheduled events for the remainder of the term have needed to be adjusted or cancelled. Please keep an eye on your Dojo notifications for the most up-to-date information and changes.
School Photos
School photos are fast approaching with all students and classes scheduled for Wednesday 26th and Thursday 27th March.
A reminder that students should wear their full school uniform including black shoes and white socks on the day they are scheduled for photos.
Filming or taking photos of Students or Staff at School Events
Speaking of photos. I know there are many opportunities throughout a year for parents, other family members and friends to come together and celebrate the success of individual students. I feel with our school photos coming up, I thought it a great opportunity to again remind everyone about the protocols around the filming of students/staff or taking photos of students/staff.
Our school supports and understands that parents will take footage of their children participating in school events for personal record. Parents need to be aware that some families and staff have legitimate reasons for prohibiting their image to be taken or published. Parents should be mindful that the publication of images, including social media, requires the permission of all parties; students, parents, staff and other people who may appear in the images. Therefore, in the best and safest interests of all students and staff please only film or take photo of your own children and please do not post any images of school events on social media. I know you will all understand and support this request.
SCHOOL SIGNAGE

We understand that the signage near our school has caused some confusion, and we’ve been working with the local Council to clarify its meaning. The information provided confirms that between 8:00–9:00am and 2:30–3:30pm, no parking is permitted in the signed area. This means that drivers must remain in their vehicles at all times—you cannot leave your car, even briefly.
The "20 minutes" indicated on the sign refers only to how long a vehicle may wait in the drop-off and pick-up zone with the driver inside before moving on or re-joining the queue. Further along, the sign changes to "2 minutes," which means that cars may only stop in that section for a maximum of two minutes before needing to move on or re-enter the queue.
We hope this helps clarify the intent of the signage and appreciate your cooperation in keeping our drop-off and pick-up area safe and efficient for everyone.
