FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
As we complete Week 4 of Term 1, it has been wonderful to see our students continuing to settle into their routines and engage with their learning. The enthusiasm and dedication of both students and staff have been inspiring, and it's clear that the school year is off to a fantastic start.
A special welcome goes out to our new students and families—it's been a pleasure getting to know you all. We are excited to continue working together to provide a supportive and enriching learning environment for everyone.
Thank you for your ongoing support, and we look forward to another great week ahead!
Year Level Parent Information Sessions
Thank you to the parents and carers who attended our Year Level Parent Information Sessions last week. It was truly encouraging to witness the continued strong partnership between home and school. I would also like to extend my gratitude to our teachers for their diligent preparation and thoughtful presentations during these sessions. I am confident that the valuable information they shared regarding school priorities, classroom routines, procedures, and upcoming units of work will offer you meaningful insight into your child/ren’s education for 2025.
2025 School Improvement Agenda
Our 2025 Improvement agenda is essential for setting clear goals and priorities that drive academic progress and student development. It provides a structured framework for teachers, staff, and the broader school community to work together towards continuous improvement and excellence in education.

Our Improvement Agenda is both exciting and challenging but a journey that will enhance our current programs as well as introduce new and innovative programs for our students.
Maximising Learning Days
The Excellence and Equity strategic plan states all schools are focussing on maximising learning days (student attendance) across all sectors.
Every day counts, every minute counts Our Meet and Greet commences at 8.40am and children are required to be in class ready to start the school day at 8.50am. Does arriving late for school impact on your child’s education?
If he/she is only missing… | That equals … | Which is … | Over 13 years of schooling that’s … |
10 minutes per day | 50 minutes per week | Nearly 1 ½ weeks per year | Nearly ½ year. |
20 minutes per day | 1 hour 40 min per week | Over 2 ½ weeks per year | Nearly 1 year. |
30 minutes per day | Half a day a week | 4 weeks per year | Nearly 1 ½ years |
1 hour per day | 1 day per week | 8 weeks per year | Over 2½ years. |
Before School Routine
For those new to the school and a friendly reminder to others please note that all students from Year 1-6 are to sit in the Hall Undercover Area BEFORE SCHOOL.
The routine will be as follows;
- No student should be arriving prior to 8.15am.
- Children are to go straight to the Hall Undercover Area WITH THEIR BAGS as soon as they arrive at school. No child is to go to their classroom first.
- All Children will sit in the HALL Undercover Area in their class groups until the bell goes at 8.40am ready for Meet and Greet.
- NO Devices will be used before school and must remain inside your child’s school bag until they go to class.
Requests for Letters or Paperwork for Specialist Appointments
Musgrave Hill State School is more than happy to provide information and share our insights for specialists such as paediatricians and psychologists. Due to the increasing number of requests please allow two weeks for the Leadership Team/Guidance Officer to provide requested information and/or letters.
This will allow time to consult with staff who work with your child and table the report through our Well-Being Support Team.
